The 34th EBLIDA Annual Council and Conference will take place in Prague, Czech Republic, from 20 to 22 April 2026, bringing together library leaders, professionals, policy voices, and partners.
Conference theme:
Sense and sustainability: From goals to action in Week 17. Libraries as partners for a sustainable future
Set against the backdrop of a city where cultural heritage and civic life are deeply intertwined, the 2026 conference will focus on Sustainability in Libraries, exploring how libraries act as long-term stewards of social, environmental, cultural, and democratic sustainability.
The programme combines EBLIDA’s statutory meetings with a full conference day dedicated to inspiration, exchange, and practical engagement, as well as optional library visits and interactive workshops.
The conference opens with EBLIDA governance meetings and association exchanges, followed by a dedicated Conference Day on Tuesday, 21 April, featuring a high-profile keynote, a multi-perspective panel on sustainability and the SDGs, hands-on workshops, lightning talks, and space for reflection and debate. Contributions will span policy, practice, and advocacy, highlighting libraries’ roles as trusted institutions, community anchors, and partners for sustainable development across Europe.
Beyond the formal sessions, the programme offers opportunities to experience Prague through guided walks, library visits, informal networking, and cultural moments, reinforcing EBLIDA’s commitment to peer learning, collaboration, and dialogue. The final day will extend this exchange through interactive workshops with partner networks and optional local library tours.
