Lightning Talks are five-minute, tightly focused presentations showcasing concrete actions taken by libraries and library organisations. We are particularly interested in examples that demonstrate how sustainability goals are translated into daily practice, services, partnerships, or organisational change.

Rather than theory or policy alone, Lightning Talks should focus on what was done, how it was done, and what was learned - including successes, obstacles, and insights that may help others take similar steps.

After the session, speakers will move to designated spots in the conference venue to continue discussions with participants interested in learning more, exchanging tools, or exploring replication.

Why propose a Lightning Talk?

Lightning Talks are an opportunity to:

  • Present a project, approach, or insight that advances sustainability in libraries or through libraries
  • Share lessons learned, challenges faced, or innovative practices worth scaling or adapting
  • Spark discussion and peer exchange around actionable pathways toward a more sustainable future

Submission guidelines

Proposals should be no longer than 100 words and include:

  • The title of your Lightning Talk
  • A brief description of the practice, project, or approach you will present
